Wrapping Up the Year

Hello, Fellow Writers and Entrepreneurs!

Fall is in the air here in South Carolina, and the vibrant colors in the trees are inspiring to this writer. In fact, as I write this, I am looking out my window at a gorgeous maple tree in our backyard that is resplendent with golden hues! As our nights grow colder and our days longer, I am looking forward to our upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations. Can you believe 2007 is already drawing to a close?

Now is the time to re-assess the past year. What goals have you accomplished? Have you gained any new clients? How successful were you this year?

Write about your experiences this year and keep track of them every year so you can see your own progress. Whether you finally wrote that novel or short story or earned more money than you had projected, you are successful in everything you have accomplished.

To your success,
Katie

A Day of Mourning

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I am not going to add any business to today’s blog out of respect for two significant events.

First, of course, I want to honor those people who lost their lives on this day just five years ago due to a cruel act of hate. My thoughts and prayers are with those families who have been left behind to remember their loved ones. I also want to express my sincere thankfulness to those who have been willing to put their lives on the line for my freedom and to their families for letting them go. I am humbled by the thought of what others have done for me. May God bless you!

Second, I want to pay a special tribute to my dear friend, Melody Koenke, who went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2006. Melody never married but devoted her life to ministering to others and to helping her parents. She sincerely loved the Lord and dedicated her life to serving Him. Even after she was diagnosed with colon cancer a couple of years ago, she never allowed herself to stop ministering to others. She never allowed others to see her pain, and she was always concerned about helping others (including me). This dear woman had a positive impact on my life and will be greatly missed. I know her family and friends will always remember this special woman and her godly impact on so many lives. After dealing with so much pain, I know that Melody is relieved to finally be in heaven.

The funeral for Melody is this afternoon, so please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Have a great week,

Katie
